Please help settle this debate.

The issue is the coffee cups and drinking glasses in the kitchen cabinet. Hubby says you should turn them upside down, that it is more hygenic that way. I must have grown up in a slovenly household though, my mom did not turn the glasses upside down, and neither one of my grandmothers did. So who is right? You know, maybe its just a Canadian thing vs a southern thing? Its no biggie, I can start putting things upside down but I just wonder if I am a slob? I wonder what Monk's kitchen cabinets look like?

The hick town finally decided to show Little Miss Sunshine at the movies, so I am going to see that today, as I mull over the important drinking glass question.

I think it is to each his own - I also turn the cups and glasses up side down and my sister in law has her cups and glasses standing upright, so I don't think it is anything to do with being a slob at all!

The upside down is from the time when you had to worry about bugs crawling in the glasses. But what always got me, if you put them down you put the lip on where the bugs crawl. I don't want my mouth on some bug legs.

So I am a keep them up type. Also less damage to them that way.

First I have to say, I love MONK!

Ummm... I think to each his own. I however turn our everyday drinking glassed upside down on one shelf in our cabniet... on the next shelf is the better drinkware and it is turn upright, because I don't want to chip the rim of the glasses. Coffee cups are stacked on top of each other upside down. My mother puts her in upright!

And NO YOU AREN'T A SLOB! Argue with hubby that the shelf (or shelf paper) isn't real hygenic either! hehehe

I've never turned mine over either. What if the cabinet itself is dirty? Then the part of the mug (where you drink out of) is touching the bottom. You're going to have to clean all your cabinets now!!!

in our house it just depends who puts them away. I don't really care - so does that make me a slob?

Some are up, some are down. I think the issue is whether you keep the cabinet clean enough. Nothing is worse than being handed a glass and you can taste something on the rim. Blech!

You turn them upside down so the bugs and vermin don't get in!
That's what I've been told, and as I still have bugs and vermin daily,I keep up the practice.
I don't think it really matters though, turn them the way you want too:) It doesn't mean you're a slob.
HA,I might just turn mine the other way to see what the family does, hehehehehehe

I see we have all kind of people here! Yeah I am not a slob! LOL.

Mr Fab...I LOVED it and I plan on doing a post about it this week. I loved when they had to push the the bus and run alongside to jump in it! I loved Alan Arking and the kid that played the son. Oh hell, I loved it all!

I say whoever does the dishes or unloads the dishwasher gets to put them back in the cupboard the way they want :)

P.S. I got your email. Thanks!
