Dog Daze of Summer.
Yesterday I took the day off and went to the dog show with my posse. Its been a couple of years since I went to a dog show but it pretty much was the same as always. Us girls hit the vendors first then look at the doggies :) I bought a new necklace and a cave like dog bed which B claims her little dogs LOVE and mine have turned up their short little noses at. I am kinda sick about that, it was not cheap although the vendor claimed she gave me $10 off. Maybe the dogs just need some time to get used to it. B did say she would buy it from me if the dogs don't use it I didn't take many pictures as I was afraid the flash would distract some dogs in the ring, and trust me these dog show people are serious. Some are downright crazy, they remind me of those moms that push their 5 year olds into being in a beauty pageant or something. You ALWAYS ask if its OK to pet their dog.
It was fun with my girls though, we always have a blast together.
This is Gentleman aka "Gent". He is a champion Min pin and won his first championship at 9 months old. He was adorable!! Your typical min pin though. This is my new necklace. I don't know if you can tell but its a greyhound. The lady said she only made one like it, so I guess I am unique.
Its kinda blurry but here are some great looking Scotti dogs getting ready to go into the ring.
Just a random shot of the crowds. It was so HOT in there, its miserably hot at every dog show I have ever been to, I wonder why? All the hot air LOL??
OK tomorrow...I promise to post a picture of me. As you know I hate pictures of me but you all are special so I do it for you. Feel the love of bloggers!!!

I am grinning from ear to ear....
Hubby and I have been looking on ebay for a used Honda Goldwing. He bid on several and either didn't win or the the reserve was not met. But he contacted the seller on one, made a deal and Tuesday he made a road trip to West Virginia to pick it up. I LOVE IT! I actually am able to ride it and not be in unbearable pain!! I still have some trouble getting on the bike, the only way I can do it is to pick up my leg and swing it over (sometimes I grab hold of my pants hem) . I look ridiculous getting on it. Now getting off is a breeze and I always would almost fall getting of the Harley. Its so comfortable, and we rode for over an hour and could have ridden longer. Before I could only make about 10 minutes before my legs starting cramping and hurting, and my back would ache. I cant wait to ride it again!!! Hubby is on night shift now through the weekend so its going to be a while. He rode it to work tonight. The pictures do not do it justice, I couldn't get far enough away. Soon I have to get a night picture, it has little led lights all over, on the wheel rim it has what they call a ring over fire. People will see us for sure. It has a radio and cruise control and a/c (this i am not sure about but I could have sworn he said it had a/c but maybe I dreamed that part.) It does have a 6 CD changer player and lots of trunk room, even a drink holder
I am a happy camper.
Did I mention its awesome???

Lindsay arrested again??
Dear Lindsay:
I am a fan, I think you will be a terrific actress when you mature. You are beautiful, you have your youth and health and a shitload of money. WHY are you determined to risk all that? I really like you but you make it hard.
Please get some help, some real help before you kill yourself or someone else. Also, you do know you can pay people to drive you around right? There are lots of unemployed people everywhere you go that would love to have a job. Think about it will ya??
Sincerely yours
Mel

Mondays find me even though I try I to hide....
But I am pretty Fabulous today. Its exhausting but someone has to do it. Thanks Sans!!!
I have an appointment with a lawyer this week to talk about my future. I have been putting this off for at least a year now, and I really don't want to do this but I know I have no choice. Anyway just going to look at my options. I don't know how much longer I can work and it worries me since I have no savings. This is something my dad had been trying to talk me into doing. so I know he is happy about it.
Speaking of dad, my mom claims she has seen him in the house, she claims there are times she knows he is there even when she cant see him. I believe in this stuff but it freaks me out.
My kids are vacationing with their dad and his wife's family in New Hampshire. Is it wrong of me to be hurt that they can't find the time to come see me but go to see the step mother's parents???????? Teenagers!

Sicko... a boring rant about my job and my medical bills.
I have not seen this yet but I want to. I have been very lucky with my insurance so far and I know it. I still owe just about every doctor in town but the amounts are not outrageous and I pay monthly. The only thing they really did not want to pay so far was the first round of Gamma treatments last summer (hello 52,000 bill from the hospital) They questioned if it was necessary, the diagnosis, anything they could think of. I kept after them and they finally paid in full that bill (well there were some write offs the hospital had to eat but I didn't have to pay anything on that)
That's what people do not understand these days, your insurance will do anything and everything to keep from paying. Its the name of the game, and I know it well since I work in the billing office for a group of docs and I am a sicko too. These days you have to take matters in your own hands, you have to call them and document everything they tell you because sometimes you get a different answer every time you talk to someone! But the patients call and yell at ME because their insurance paid the bill at less than 50%. I don't get why they hell at us. Yes the doctors and hospitals charges are way way up there but the reason for that is all the write offs they have to take. I am not saying the docs aren't making $ but I sure am not and yet I am the one they call and yell at!
One lady today called at was yelling, her insurance paid at less that 1/2, and frankly I think she has a cheaper policy too. She said all I had was a biopsy so why do I owe over 1,000! LOL all she had was a biopsy, that's a major thing! I wonder if she called and yelled at the pathologist too?
Welcome to my world. Now that I have 2 insurances the hospital refuses to even acknowledge my secondary because they do not par with them so I have to file those myself. I miss the good all days when doctors made house calls and bartered their services. I don't remember those days but I bet it was kinda nice...

Why I need a man around....
Reason #2056 (also know as many Mel's does it take to change a lightbulb)
The lighbulb went out in the fridge this past weekend. Hubby is working constantly it seems right now because of a special project so I thought I could handle it. I mean its just a light bulb, right?? I asked hubby what to get and he said a standard appliance bulb. I go to the store and find the bulb right away, easy as pie. Then I take the old bulb out, also easy. BUT when I go to put the new bulb in it would not work! I screwed and unscrewed (hehe I said screwed) several times and NOTHING. I try for about 20 minutes...NOTHING. Not even a glimmer of light. So when hubby comes home and I ask him to try and he screws it ONE freaking time and it works. I think its a comspiracy. I wouldnt be surpised if Cheney was behind it. I'll let you know......

I'm Just Wild about Harry.....
Saw the new Harry Potter movie this weekend, I loved it!! I thought it was the best one yet. Alot of people don't like it because it skipped alot that was in the book (St Mungos, Neville's mom and Percy Weasley come to mind) but I still liked it. My son says transformers is better, but I just have no desire to that one.
But if you have seen it or go to it soon, keep in mind I think they patterned the character of Delores Umbridge after my old evil ex boss. Its uncanny, she dressed like her, she walked and talked like her!! My ex boss is a bit older but other than that she is a dead ringer. See, I told you my ex boss is pure evil. She would smile at you while cutting you to shreds. She called me a pig in front of the whole office once and when I gained weight from the meds I am on she asked if I was sure I was not pregnant! (ouch) . She never made me write with my own blood but I bet she would have if she had thought of it. Life is so much better with that bitch gone!
In other news here, I finally found some riding boots that are somewhat comfortable. They are the boots the lady cops here wear. So not only will my feet be protected while riding I can also kick me some criminals if the need arises! Talk about a win win situation!
But alas today is Monday. Boo.

I had a dream...
I dream alot, and sometimes I remember them, sometimes not. My insecurities really come out in my dreams I think. This week I dreamed Hubby had gone up to the High School and brought a young girl home and took her in the spare room for several hours. I, of course was pretty distraught and went in there and told him she needed to leave. He took her back to the school and when he came home I said we needed to talk about it and I explained that I would not have that, that it was a deal breaker for me. To which he said "I guess we have a problem then because I am not going to stop" I was FURIOUS when I woke up, I called him an asshole the next morning, and he was pretty confused. I told him about the dream, he thought it was pretty funny. so now its kind of a joke. Last night he was going to be late coming home from work and he told me its because he had to stop by the high school on the way home. haha. Why do I dream such distressing things? The worst dreams I have are about my ex husband and in the dreams we are always still together. Nightmares really.
Where is everyone this week??? I am not getting any comments, no one loves me anymore! waah.
Anyway I am glad its the weekend, more drama at work. I wish for a drama free work day! And I am scared to get dooced so I cant even go into details.

Part of the twisty road.
Leaves of three leave them be!!
I wanted to buy this place:
Driving in the mountains
On July 4, I lucked out and hubby was off! We went for a drive in the mountains, we went to Brevard NC where we planned to have lunch but there was a festival downtown and everywhere was was packed! So we ended up eating fresh (subway) but we still had a nice drive. I was looking for a place where we could get some good pictures but the road we were on didn't have many places you could stop. Its a twisty road that Bikers like. Hubby went back on his bike after we got home to ride that twisty road. Where were was part of the Eastern continental divide! LOL I feel like I really went somewhere. Anyway, here are some pics they are lousy but its all I was able to get.

Its official!!! I rock!
I have 2 nominations for rocking girl blogger! wow! Its a major award! Fantastagirl from the adventures of fantastagirl nominated me. I heart her! She does it all, a super busy mom. Reminds me of when my kids were younger, I KNOW first hand how hard it is to work fulltime and still run a family. She rocks!
Then Dr Mom from Dear Doctor mom nominated me! She also works fulltime and raises a family and yet always has time for us needy bloggers (yeah I am needy LOL) You rock Dr mom!
Now I have to pick 5 gals who rock. Its hard because all us bloggers rock. At least I think so anyway. here are my choices:
Poody from Pssssst I'm over here. She is like the sister I never had. The wilder sister LOL. I never superglued a man while he was sleeping hehe,,,funny story. Well its funny to me but you guys wont think so :)
Vegas Princess from life VEGAS style. She's come closer to winning a major award in real life than I ever have and she rocks! I also learned that you are supposed to tip dealers at Casinos. I did not know that but then again there is no gambling here in the bible belt.
Dick Small =. OK he's a guy but he rocks so much and he makes me laugh. Plus he always posts on the weekends when no one else does. I check his blog first when I log on everyday.
Beth from Blind as a bat because she is not scared to post pictures of herself digging for gold :)
Lynda from Lynda's great journey. She helps me maintan my place here unselfishly and never asks anything of me. Plus she is awesome and ithe power of her hair compels me!
Really I want to give one to all my peeps and homies on my blogroll. Really. I dont waste my time with crap, everyone on there is quality!' You all rock!

Sir Diva John...
So it seems that Elton John threw one of his famous diva fits after the Concert for Diana. He blamed it later on being tired, I can relate to being tired but I rarely throw hissy fits. It wouldn't do me good if I did anyway LOL. He was being made to walk about 50 yards. Poor Elton. Life's tough. I wish I COULD walk 50 yards Sir John. Geez!!
Isn't it amazing that the London Police have in custody most of the suspects from this weekend's bombings? They really have their act together. Bravo! I bet they were working around the clock and "tired" too, but THEY haven't thrown diva fits either!
Today was not too bad. It helped that Hubby was off. We went to one of Dad's favorite restaurants, he loved to eat out. I would have gotten a pie to eat (dad loved pies too, any kind) but I didn't see any sugar free. Boo. Oh, the sugar free banana pops are NOT delicious. bummer.
Happy Fourth of July! I missed Canada day but Happy belated Canada day anyway. I am sleeping in tomorrow and I will throw a diva fit if anyone tries to wake me up early!

Concert for Diana
Yesterday I watched some of this concert, I love these live world wide concerts, there is another one this coming weekend. I watched it and cried. I cried for Diana, dying so young, for her sons who have lost thier mother. I cried for my dad, tomorrow would have been his 72 birthday. My loss is still so fresh it amazes me that these boys could plan a concert like this for their "mum" and speak about her without pain, to speak about her with happiness. I guess maybe in 10 years time I will be like that too. But not tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be rough.
