Finally the toys being dropped off. People brought arm loads of toys to donate, some people had a car there just to bring the presents if they couldn't get them on the bike anywhere. Those trucks were Full by the end of the day! Such a great cause and just a great time! I got cold and wet (it rained some) but I had just a blast.

I've been feeling alot like people are talking about me lately...

At my work there always seems to be drama of some sort, and I really try to stay out of it. But there is alot of Holla back girls there LOL. So I know people talk about me but I really found out I don't want that fact confirmed and I really don't want to know what people have said. Its best not to know I have found.

Bowling for Soup has a song called "High School never ends" and I agree.

Posting every day has been hard, but not as hard as I thought. I will, however, be ready for a break this weekend!

I had today off from the W and for once didn't have a doctors appointment! I rarely get a free Wendsday anymore! But I had this to deal with :
Yes a mountain of clean clothes to fold and put away. Look Even Jeopardy cannot believe that 2 people create so much laundry! Unreal.

Also tonight I cooked a frozen Prego Lasagna for dinner. I know my Blogger friends that cook are aghast but hey I am not a great cook, not even a good one really. But I was reading the directions and it tells you what temp and how long to cook it but then it says "Use potholders to remove from oven"!!! I am not a great cook but even I know to use potholders. I thought its amusing that they felt they had to put that on there but I am sure someone would try to sue because they got burned cooking Prego lasagna. Like the McDonald's coffee cup thing remember that?

I am missing Pushing Daisies! Anyone else love that show?

Introducing Tiger!

On her birthday my mom went down to the animal shelter and picked out a kitten. Now, I had advised her to get an adult cat, but she wanted a kitten. And she has fussed, worried and complained about the cat, he is a bit wild, but playful wild not crazy wild (I have owned a crazy cat, his name was Fang and he lived up to his name!). She is slowly getting used to him, he is getting used to her and they are settling down very well together. I was surprised she chose a yellow tomcat, she had yellow tomcat named Morris for years and she was devastated when he died. Tiger looks alot like Morris, you be the judge.

Its been a year today since you left us. I am not angry with you anymore but I was for a long time. See, I never ever could visualize a world without you and it hurts me everyday. I can't tell you how many times this past year I had to stop myself from calling you, remember when you were working nights and I would call sometimes at 3 am if I couldn't sleep? That was a long time ago, yet it seems like yesterday. Mom misses you more than I do, she had you for 51 years, I had you for 46. You went through so much pain in your life, some of it was self inflected ( Its hard to pass that tree on Ecoff ave you hit that one night, damn tree just jumped in front of your car haha) most of it was just the lottery of life that gave you bad health and I seem to inherited so much of it. I miss being able to talk you about my health problems, you understood more than my doctor since you were experiencing the same things. I know you were scared of dying, you told me just a month before the stroke...so that makes it worse for me. I haven't told anyone you said this, Bernard convinced mom that you were at peace and ready to go and had accepted God. I don't know how he knew this, you were unable to communicate at all, but it sure made Mom feel better. I wish I had been able to say goodbye, I NEVER got to say goodbye. Ed was able to be there before you were completely under in the coma, so he was able to say things and he is glad for that. But I didn't have that, you were gone before I got there and it sucks. It sucks!! The kids miss you so much too, but they are young and have their interests so they are able to deal with better. They are fine, healthy. Mom says she saw you in the house so if you were there I guess you know how she is. She has not changed at all LOL you know what I mean.

Anyway, I know you loved your church jokes so I am posting one here for you dad. I love you. I miss you.

Toys for Tots

Today was the annual toys for tots motorcycle parade. I debated and debated on whether to go, it was cold, windy and drizzly. I still haven't bought a winter coat yet so that was an issue. But at the last minute I found my old Tony Stewart jacket (dont hate I used to be a fan, I don't care for racing at all any more) and wore that with several layers and it wasn't too bad. But I had a BLAST, I am so glad I went. We couldn't stay very long at the end because there were no seats and I didn't have my walker, but alot of people left when we did. The only thing that bothered me was a friend. I'll post about that later, maybe I am just too sensitive about stuff. I have lots of pics, although my camera battery died before the event even started! I think I need a new camera. Here is one pic of the crowd before the event.

Today was a PJs, cleaning and Christmas movies!


Today I stayed home all day. I got up and took a shower and put clean PJ's on and wore them all day LOL. This is one of my favorite times of years....Christmas movies, the sappier the better! I love them! The Hallmark Channel and the Family channel are the best ones for this, sometimes Lifetime too. I hate shopping, I hate crowds so no black Friday for me. I will do most of my shopping online! Sometimes my friends can con me into going shopping but I avoid if I can. I would rather stay home and watch the Christmas movies :)

Anyway, This is a rough time of year. Monday will be the year anniversary of my dad's death and its been kinda difficult for me. I know its way worse for mom. She got a kitten for her Birthday named Tiger and I think its really been helping her loneliness but nothing can help the sadness of losing a spouse after 50 years.
My kids are going over there Monday to be with her and visit the grave, and just do stuff with her to take her mind off of things. I will be at work and we should be swamped Monday so that will help me. There is such a huge hole in my life now. Death sucks.

• That my mom has made it through a year of living alone. Not sure how much longer she can do this but she is happy at home and doesn't want to leave.
  
• my brother - he is there for my mom when I cannot be there.
• my house, I love my house. it isn't grand at all but its mine! Its ghost free (always a plus) and the perfect size. It definitely looks "lived in" LOL

• My friends, I am spending thanksgiving with a new friend and her family. So I whined about being alone while hubby rakes in the overtime today? It worked LOL I actually ended up with 2 invites but Bec didn't invite me until the last minute and you how anal I am planning things. I am not spontaneous at all!
• for all the people that work tirelessly in animal rescue, its hard work I know! Adopt, never buy a pet !
• For all the troops, the ones there now and the ones at home with wounds and scars. You guys and gals ROCK!
• OK I don't know how to turn off these bullets LOL! Its time to leave, have a great day! Happy belated Thanksgiving to all my Canadian peeps :)

I want a Ped Egg!

I am so tempted to buy this! The commercial on TV has the lady dumping her dead skin into a trash can! Kinda gross but my feet are bad, even pedicures don't help the callouses. So should buy one....BUT wait if I buy one I get 2! what a deal! Has anyone out there tried this?

What were you doing 20 years ago today?

I was creating life! Yes Stuffgirl is 20 today but if she had it her way she would still be in the womb. She did not want to be born. I went 3 WEEKS past my due date and no signs so they induced but she still wasnt cooperating. She still to this day does not like change. She was a really good baby but restless. She walked at 7 months!

The picture above I took the day we brought her home from the hospital. Its a picture of a picture so its not great quality.

This is her first car, she was a year old then!

I am guessing she is around 8-9 here.


At 15 here. 15 was a long year for her because I wouldnt let her date until she was 16. She was a bit boy crazy, and they called all hours, drove me CRAZY. Thank goodness for cell phones and text messages now.

And here she is now. She looks NOTHING like me. Neither did my son. Strange



I told her I did all the work that day, she hardly particpated and yet this is her day?? LOL it should be all about ME :)

My new Catchphrase!

Its "suck it up", its so useful. You hate your job? well SUCK IT UP or look for another one. I cant tell you how many times I want to say this to patients on the phone when they call to complain about a $19 bill. I really feel like saying "suck it up and pay it, you want to see some medical bills??" Other than cancer patients I challenge anyone that my medical bills are higher than theirs. I am not groaning about this I just SUCK IT UP and pay what I can. Life is not fair. Get over it, suck it up. George Clooney wont come and sweep you off your feet?? Well suck it up because he goes for woman young enough to be your daughter.

My attitude is pretty bad on Mondays :)

Gas prices SUCK.

I am sure lots of people agree with me on this. I filled up today and its just ridiculous, and I for one know SOMEONE is getting rich from this, no matter how much the big oil people say they are not. But its not just, groceries prices have risen at an obscenely fast rate. Groceries I could get for about $80 now runs about $130. But my paycheck is not keeping up at all with way living expenses are going up and up!

When I filled up it was $3.12 for super, I didn't notice the price of regular but here is a list of current gas prices all over I got from CNN.com

Its Friday Field Tripping again!!!

Its been a dull week here in redneckville. I worked all week (I usually only work 4 days a week) and in my spare time I blogged for NaBloPoMo or went to the doctor. I have another kidney infection! Sucks. But anyway, I just haven't been anywhere but home. And Me suggested I post more pictures of my dogs so I got out my camera and found all the dogs scattered around the house and snapped them. Just minutes ago, this is a real time Blog tonight LOL.
First we have Jeopardy in the living room on the couch. Alot of people think Greyhounds are hyper because they race but they sleep about 20 hours a day. For real!!!




Then we have Deuce, in the living room on a dog bed. I debated posting his pic, he has had an allergic reaction (severe!) and is almost hairless as a result. But he is getting better. Poor Deuce! It doesn't seem to bother him much though.



And here is Mocha in the recliner in the living room. She watching Best Week Ever on TV. She just looks like she is sleeping.
Then I found Melvin in the Spare bedroom, we keep comforters on the floor for him, he prefers those because he can wad and bunch them to suit himself. Sorry this room is kind of mess!


I found Raven also in the spare bedroom on the bed, 1/2 way under the covers. The little dogs LOVE to sleep under the covers!


Wylie was in her normal spot, on MY bed on MY pillow! She glares at me when I kick her off at night when we go to bed. Hubby is on nights so she may sleep with me tonight.


Star AKA the baby demon brat dog was also on my bed. She was chewing on her foot. Don't let her cuteness fool you she is CRAZY. I mean it I think she is crazydawg. She does crazy things, but as long as she is around I am safe from spiders :)




I got ready to upload the pictures but realized I had missed Jazzy Pinkfeet! I looked all over the house and couldn't find her! Then I saw the covers on the spare bed move. That's her under that blanket.

So there you have it a night at my house with 8 dogs. Exciting huh?

Edited to add : I just checked Me's blog and she posted the same thing almost, an evening at home with the dogs!!! Great minds think alike huh???

NaBloPoMo 07 1/2 way through...

I really didn't think it would be so difficult when I signed up for this, and it hasn't been too bad but I am kinda running out of post ideas. AND my Internet connection was really really slow, slower than dial up and things were timing out so I got worried I would miss posting because of this but Hubby talked me through fixing it...YEAH! (he's on night shift right now I HATE IT) I am like a crazed crack junkie without my Internet., its really quite sad LOL.

But I have noticed some people do this when they run out of blog post ideas, I will answer questions. Post any question you want in the comments and I will attempt to answer in the comments. Sounds easy as PIE, we'll see !

Man marries a dog??

Just when you think you cant deal with the news, its all so depressing anyway, I come across a news story that just completely baffles me. Here is the story. Is it just me or this seem bizarre behavior? Then again, it may be a plus. Your dog will never argue with you or leave its dirty underwear in the bathroom floor. And at least if your dog forgets your anniversary he has the excuse of being a dumb animal.




Then, also in the news there is a story about the "Elvis never died Museum" that claims it has documentation that Elvis is still alive. I have never doubted that Elvis is dead, and I don't get where this theory came from. Here is a website that gives 10 reasons that Elvis is still alive if you are interested.





But then again, FEMA really did fake a news conference so maybe there is something about conspiracy theories.

I am so tired...

Really, I am tired to the bone. I don't know why, I think Time change is still effecting me, I have been to bed early every night since time change and tonight I am ready for bed at 8:30!!

I HATE people that talk trash behind your back and are just sweet and lovey dovey to your face. I have a co worker like this and today I really wanted to smash her face. But because I hate drama and am a pacifist I said and did nothing. I am trying to take the high road but its hard.

Its a major award!!LOL I love that line from "a Christmas Story" one of the best movies EVAH in my book. But seriously I got an award from Sushiboy for posting the Friday field trips! Glad you are liking them but I am seriously running out of ideas, last week it was traffic, this week it may a parking lot LOL. Like I said, I really don't get out much. Thank you so much!!!!

Now for Movie review Monday. I watched movies on the Tube again rather than go to the theater.

The first movie is SAVED!, a hilarious look at Christian Schools. I enjoyed it, hubby did too. Some people might be offended but its just plain funny. Mandy Moore is at her best and Macaulay Culkin is even good too, in fact he was quite good. But Jenna Malone stole the movie as her good girl fallen from grace. In fact I kept seeing Jena Malone everywhere this weekend. The best line of the weekend came from this movie.

Cassandra: There's only one reason Christian girls comes down to the Planned Parenthood.
Roland: She's planting a pipe bomb?
Cassandra: Okay, two reasons.


Jenna Malone is the next movie too, BASTARD OUT OF SOUTH CAROLINA. I thought that title was pretty bad and only started watching it because I love movies set in that period of time. I was surprised, it was really good. Completely different than the other movie it deals with Poverty and Child abuse. In fact I read it was banned in Canada for a short period of time because it has a pretty graphic child rape scene. Angelica Houston directed this gem. Jenna Malone again stole the show. You don't hear much about her but she is an excellent actress. She was in one of my most Favorite movies Pride and Prejudice (I watched some of that again this weekend too) and she is obnoxious as the younger sister Lydia.

Again, Maybe I will make it to the actual movie theater one of these days LOL but for now I can find plenty on Cable to watch

I love Tim Gunn...BUT!

I was reading that he has a short list of fashion no-nos for women over 40.

"Women in their 40s should always try to avoid horizontal stripes, jackets that hit at mid-thigh, pleated pants, double-breasted blazers, Capri-length pants and low-rise jeans."


Now I love Tim but there is NO way I am giving up my Capri pants!! But I forgive Tim almost anything!! The new season of Project Runway starts this weeks and I cant wait! I don't sew and no fashion sense but I freaking LOVE that show!

I discovered Diabetic socks at Target yesterday and my feet are SO happy! I never knew there was such a thing but my feet are so freaking sensitive. Last winter I didn't wear socks at all because I couldn't stand them against my skin but these socks are heaven sent. They are called Medipeds and I just bought a bunch more pairs on EBay today. Hubby asked if Diabetic socks were lower in sugar than other socks?? ha ha!

Speaking of winter, its been so cold here, way colder than usual for November in SC it seems like to me. But Then again maybe the Coumadin is working on me because its hard for me to get warm these days. I am ready for summer and its barely fall here!

Today I want to post a Stevie Nicks video, I bought her Crystal Visions CD/DVD today, and have spent alot of time watching interviews, videos, whatever on YouTube and also on her site TheNickFix She is one of my favorites, I just love her, I love her style and her voice! And OMG what hair!!! I say she has the best hair in Rock and Roll hands down. She is 58 and still looks so great. Me I am 47 and Meh. But I forgive her for looking great. She is on my list of famous people I would love to meet.

Yesterday I was SO bad, I went to Olive Garden and lets just say I overate. I have been so good on this damned diabetes diet but I was not good yesterday. I paid for my gluttony and have been so so good today LOL. My blood sugar was up but not as high as I imagined but I felt awful after eating so much. Its funny, never in my life have I thought of food as fuel before but thats what it is. Live and learn.

Today I went to the bookstore to use my birthday gift card (yes my birthday was 2 months ago but I am slow) and I overheard this "you have got to turn it all over and let God into your life....thats when greed comes in" Now that just didnt sound right to me but I am no theology student. I could have stopped and asked him what he meant but then I would have to talk to him and I dont like poeple much so I walked away.

Friday Field Trip...

Today's Friday field trip takes on interstate 85, where we were stuck in traffic several weeks ago. Due to poor planning on my part, we were trying to make it home from Virginia to South Carolina right when there was race traffic at the Lowe's Motor Speedway.


But at least there was skywriting to entertain us! I really wanted it say "Surrender Dorothy!" but all it said was "Welcome race fans"
And a nice little smiley Face :)

And here I tried to get a picture of all the backed up traffic, you cant really see it that well though. The cars may have been moving fast on the track but we sure weren't!

By sunset we were out of that traffic and moving pretty good. I tried to get a good picture of the sunset but I was just a bit late.

Not the best Friday Field trip but I haven't really been anywhere since then :)

Lo yet another reason why South Carolina Sucks....

They wont let Stephen Colbert run for president????? OK so he's a long shot but He sure would make this election funny. The guy is hilarious! I think he should run, but then again what do I know about politics?

I am reading about the writer's strike, and I am firmly on the side of the writers even though it means more sucky reality TV looms ahead. I have admiration for the actors that have refused to cross the picket lines, Jay Leno, David Letterman, John Stewart, Steve Carell and Tina Fey. But I know alot of people will be out of work with the holidays looming, so I hope the big business networks ans the owners are able to compromise soon with the union.

In more local news, I had 2 fillings today and again was forced to watch Rachel Ray AND be drilled on at the same time! I am sure that's against the Geneva Convention, if not it should be!
My gums are sore, the left side of my face is still partially numb. BUT I did get the hawt dentist...woohooo he is something! He happened to mention that he worked out before coming into work and was afraid he was sweaty!! I was the one sweaty!! LOL. I was trying to see if he was wearing a wedding ring, (Not for me I thinking of someone for stuffgirl, please! he's a baby!)but those darn gloves I couldn't really tell but I don't think he was wearing one.
